How to Successfully Finish a Comic or StoryThis issue has been going on a lot lately, especially when the comic that you loved the most from famous artist had to be cut, because of the artist's personal reasons? Well if you want to do a long comic/story these are the most things should be in your mind.
WARNING: THESE ARE FOR THE ONES THAT ARE CREATING A STORY (LITERATURE OR COMIC) THAT IS AT LEAST OVER 100 PAGES.

If you are doing a long comic, say over 400 pages, you should dedicate 70% of your DA drawings on it. Unless you are pretty sure that you will be one of the artist for SEGA or Archie, then you should.
A lot of people lost their motivation because they didn't have the time to do it as they are preoccupied by commissions and request.

Set a storyline. Some that I knew couldn't continue their comic because they don't know how to transition from one chapter/issue to another. By planning what are you going to explain/draw in each chapter you will have a scope of each chapter. As a resu

December 10,2012

Hi guys, Dan here.

So i wish to apologize for the total meltdown that the noting system encountered recently. One of our admins needed to resign due to school issues, and me and Togekisser are trying our best to juggle college finals and projects with the spreadsheet. The reason the spreadsheet and noting system messed up so bad is that, when someone leaves the group, we need to scramble to reassign them to both get a partner and a secret santa. We had over 12 people leave this year, and as a result, our sheet basically imploded. Because we understand that this is not fair to you, we are allowing a submission extension.

AS OF NOW, YOU MAY SUBMIT SECRET SANTA GIFTS UNTIL JANUARY 15th at midnight EASTERN COAST US TIME. This 2 week extension will allow those who received their note late to have more than enough time to work on their stuff. Once again, I am sincerely sorry for the conundrum. Before this SS, we had no idea how difficult it would be to manage 250 members effectively. I am very very sorry to all of you.

As far as next year, we are unsure of what the event will be like. The stress associated with managing an event such as this is immense.

Togekisser and I are still trying to get everyone 100% accounted for. It really is a logistics nightmare, so please hang in there and once again I am so SO incredibly thankful for your patience.

Because of the people who have left the group, we have run into a pretty substantial problem and require action immediately. ANYONE who has not received a Secret Santa note, Inform us IMMEDIATELY! We require this as soon as possible! If you do not send us a note stating we did not send you one, you will more than likely be MISSED.

anyway, I am aware some of you have not received notes as of yet. Reason being is we had a bit of a...problem inside the group as far as administration goes. Setbacks happen and we are no exception. We should have those notes out as soon as possible. Once again thank you so much for your patience. Also, there are a substantial number of users here who have not uploaded Secret Santa journals. As a result, if your journal is not uploaded by December 3, you will be banned from joining this event in the future permanently. It is both highly inconsiderate to the members in this group trying to enjoy the event and the people trying to run this event. You have been warned.

As far as uploading images go, YOU MAY BEGIN UPLOADING YOUR SECRET SANTA IMAGE AFTER DECEMBER 10th. Post it to dA, then submit to this group's gallery! That way, everyone involved can see how awesome you did! We will accept gifts from

DECEMBER 10th - JANUARY 1st midnight! THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSIONS PERIOD. That gives you a large window of time (now i am aware there are alot of you doing things for the holidays as I will be too, but you should be able to get stuff done. I also know that some people here (like myself) take a while to draw. Just work on it when you can and I can guarantee that you will finish just fine c:

For those of you who are waiting on someone to post a journal, if it is NOT UP BY DECEMBER 3rd, I give you full permission to do the following:

'go into the other person's gallery, select a character that this person owns (make sure it is theirs) and draw that. THIS IS ONLY IF THEY DO NOT POST THEIR JOURNAL BY DECEMBER 3rd. DO NOT DO THIS OPTION IF THEY HAVE POSTED A JOURNAL. I know its only a small fraction of you who have this issue, so I am greatly sorry.'

Hey guys! Just letting you all know that we are currently Almost done sending out the notes for the Secret Santa event. If you have NOT uploaded your secret santa journal asking for what you'd like for christmas, please do so. Otherwise, your Secret Santa will have nothing and no way to draw you a gift, and that sucks. So get those journals uplaoded!

Also a bit of an interesting heads up I was made aware of. I guess dA had this odd 'involuntary' beta test for this new 'broken' uploader and a few members have been stuck with the piece of junk for a while now with no way to upload. IF YOU ARE A PART OF THIS GROUP, finish your picture as you normally would. If you are still in the part of the betatest that forces you to use the useless uploader by the upload time, you can ALWAYS submit your gift to photobucket or a dA substitute and provide your Secret Santa with a link. It's different, but we'll make it work, as it is only a small percentage of you guys who are in this problem.

Once again, thanks for being patient with us. There's about ....40 of you guys who still need notes. Just stay with us and we'll get them to you as soon as possible. Also thank you guys for hanging in there and taking the time to participate in an event like this. (also if you get duplicate notes from some of us, it was be cause I (dan) was sending out notes to people that Kinomi already did. Simple mistake xD. So if you're in the group of people who both got notes from me AND togekisser, use hers instead (or the first note you received).

As of these next few days I will do my best to get the notes out.
I am the only mod available to get this done (as one mod is sick and the other cannot get to the computer). I am doing my best to get notes out but everyone keep in mind I have school and work to do. At the most I can get 100 notes out a day with my schedule. So if you haven't gotten your note yet be patient with me. There are 245 users in this event so yes this will take me some time. Please stop worrying I am on this as best I can, please no more comments worrying about where your note it. Just everyone focus on having your list posted.
